In short
Dahiriyyah is a free app of the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation. It has no adverts. We do not sell or share your information with advertisers or anyone else. You do not need an email or a password to use it.
What stays on your phone only
- Your location. Used on the phone to work out prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. It is never sent to us. You can choose a city instead of sharing your location.
- Your settings, reading position, bookmarks and tasbih counts.
- Recitations you have listened to are kept on the phone so they play without the internet.
What is sent to the Foundation's server
When you use Hadayan Shehu or Community, the app creates an anonymous account (no email, no phone number) and stores:
- the name you choose to show;
- the hizb you pick each day for Hadayan Shehu;
- the posts and comments you write, the posts you like, and any post you report.
Your name, picks, posts and comments are visible to other people using the app. Posts appear only after a moderator approves them.
Moderators sign in with an email and password given by the Foundation.
The server is run by Supabase for the Foundation. Recitations are delivered from Cloudflare storage. These services see only what is needed to deliver the app.
Notifications
The adhan and the Hadayan Shehu reminder are scheduled on your phone. No notification service collects your data.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings → Delete my data. This removes your name, Hadaya picks, posts, comments and likes from the server and resets the app. Uninstalling the app removes everything kept on the phone.

Children
Community is meant for people aged 13 and over. Posts are moderated before they appear.
